FAQ
Good morning Amanda, hope you are well? Just wondering if I could pick your brains a little bit, I have a couple of queries. First one is I have noticed one of our newer doctors is putting Depo-Medrone prescriptions through written slightly differently, usually they are written as follows: Depo-Medrone with Lidocaine suspension for injection 2ml vials (Pfizer). However hers are written: Depo-Medrone 40mg/1mg suspension for injection vials (Pfizer) Therefore I am slightly concerned that because hers do not state 2ml vials will they be returned? Do they need to state which size vials are being used or not? Hi there, Both ways of being written have a listing on DMD and so shouldn’t get returned however it looks like they are slightly different products and have a significantly different list price. I suggest you find out exactly what is being used to ensure the script is priced correctly at Prescription Services. Good Afternoon Amanda, Happy New Year to you. I remember you saying about Nexplanon, that it should go through pharmacy as we lose money through the DD route but then I remember that this was changing in Jan 2025, is this correct? I have 2 prescriptions and not sure where to channel them, thanks 😄 Happy New Year to you too 😊 From January 1st, Nexplanon has been given PA status so you will get a PA payment through the DD channel. Basically as its contraception you pay 5% VAT but they reimburse you back at 20% VAT making it more profitable down the DD route. Hope that makes sense? Hi Amanda, Hope you are well. Just a quick query re Salamol/Ventolin. We can only currently get Salamol from AAH and it’s costing £2.01, OOS at other wholesalers. Ventolin is £1.50 and we get paid £1.50. Am I right in thinking we should really be ordering the Ventolin? Hi, When you order the Salamol through AAH, try ordering as Salbutamol – it should be coming up with a best price of £1.80. Not sure why but if you order as Salamol, you are correct – price is £2.01 – and you will probably receive exactly the same product.
